Overview
When importing contacts into PXME with a CSV file, you may encounter errors that prevent certain records from being processed. PXME provides detailed error codes so you can identify the issue and fix it quickly. This guide explains how to troubleshoot failed imports, what the most common error codes mean, and how to resolve them.
How to Troubleshoot Contact Imports
Go to Contacts in the left menu.
Click Bulk Actions at the top.
Find your import and click Show Stats.
Select the Error tab to view error messages, codes, and descriptions.
⚠️ Note: If you see “Line 1,” it refers to the first contact in your CSV file.
Common Error Codes & Fixes
Formatting & File Issues
1001 Unknown Error – File can’t be processed.
Fix: Verify file format, clear cache, or try another browser.1002 Multiple Owners Found – Owner name matches more than one user.
Fix: Use the owner’s email address in the CSV.1003 Invalid Sheet Count – File has multiple sheets.
Fix: Use a single-sheet CSV only.1004 Invalid Required Property – A required field has invalid data.
Fix: Correct formatting (phone, email, or date).1005 Invalid Enumeration Option – Value doesn’t match dropdown/checkbox options.
Fix: Update to an existing option or add the new option in PXME.1006 Invalid Contact ID – ID doesn’t match an existing record.
Fix: Export contacts to confirm IDs or uncheck “Update by ID.”1007 File Not Found – Upload failed.
Fix: Save the CSV locally and re-upload.
Duplicate & Identifier Issues
1008 Invalid Email Format – Invalid email structure.
Fix: Correct to name@domain.com.1009 Empty Unique Property – Missing required ID, email, or phone.
Fix: Add at least one unique identifier.1010 Duplicate Unique Property Value – Duplicate value in the system.
Fix: Adjust duplicates or change primary column.1011 Duplicate Unique Value in File – Multiple rows with the same unique value.
Fix: Ensure one unique value per row.1012 Duplicate Contact ID in File – Same ID listed more than once.
Fix: Keep only the latest record.
Field-Specific Errors
1013 Invalid Phone Number – Incorrect phone format.
Fix: Use E.164 (+1 1234567890) or U.S. standard formats.1014 Invalid Date Format – Unsupported date structure.
Fix: Use formats like YYYY-MM-DD or MM/DD/YYYY.1015 Could Not Find Owner – Owner doesn’t exist in PXME.
Fix: Verify the user exists and use their exact name or email.1016 Ambiguous Enumeration Option – Value matches multiple options.
Fix: Update so it matches only one option.
Miscellaneous Errors (1017–1024)
These cover failed updates, missing fields, or workflow errors.
Double-check CSV formatting.
Ensure required fields (name, phone, email) are present.
Verify user permissions.
Formatting Requirements for Custom Fields
Dates: YYYY-MM-DD, MM/DD/YYYY, or DD MMM YYYY.
Checkboxes/Multiple Options: Separate with commas, semicolons, or periods.
Single Option: Only one value (e.g., “Blue”).
Tags: Any format normalizes to lowercase.
Do Not Disturb: True/False or Yes/No.
Phone Numbers: Prefer E.164 format.
Numerical/Monetary Values: 1234, 1.23, 1,234.56 accepted.
Timezones & Countries: PXME supports full ISO 2-letter country codes and standard timezone formats.

Q: Can I undo a bulk import?
A: Only new contact imports can be reverted. Updates cannot be undone.
