Overview
SMS and phone number validation in PXME helps ensure your text messages are only sent to valid, SMS-capable phone numbers. By running checks before sending, PXME prevents wasted spend on invalid, landline, or incorrectly formatted numbers. With the option to automate responses to validation errors, you can maintain cleaner contact lists and improve deliverability across campaigns.
How SMS Validation Works
Validation Timing – Numbers are validated when the first SMS is sent to a new contact (not during contact import or creation).
Checks Performed:
Identifies landline numbers
Detects invalid or non-existent numbers
Validates number formatting
This ensures that SMS messages are only attempted for numbers capable of receiving texts.
How to Activate SMS Validation
Navigate to Settings > Business Profile.
Scroll to SMS Validation Settings.
Check the option: Validate phone numbers when the first SMS is sent to a new contact.
Save your changes.
Note: A small fee applies per validation, but this reduces costs by preventing failed SMS attempts.
Creating a Workflow for Validation Errors
You can automate responses when validation errors occur, ensuring better campaign performance and follow-up.
Steps to Set Up:
Go to Automation > Workflows.
Create a new workflow or edit an existing one.
Add a Workflow Trigger → select Number Validation.
Add filters for specific errors:
Error 21211: Invalid phone number
Error 30006: SMS-incapable number
Add desired actions (e.g., send internal notification, log a task, send an email).
Save your workflow.
