Create SMTP Credentials for Dedicated Domains

Overview

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) credentials allow you to securely send emails through your dedicated sending domain in PXME. By creating unique SMTP logins, you gain:

  • Improved email deliverability.

  • Ability to integrate with warm-up services to build domain reputation.

  • Option to assign team members unique sending credentials for tracking and security.

This feature ensures authenticated sending while giving you greater control over reputation and performance.

How to Use

Step 1: Navigate to SMTP Settings

  1. Go to Settings in the lower-left of PXME.

  2. Select Email Services.

  3. Click Dedicated Domain and IP.

  4. If you don’t yet have a domain, click Add Domain.

Step 2: Add & Verify a Domain

  1. Click Add Domain and enter your domain name.

  2. PXME will generate required DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc.).

  3. Insert these records into your DNS provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.).

  4. Once verified, your domain appears in the Dedicated Domains list.

Step 3: Create SMTP Credentials

  1. Next to your verified domain, click the three dots → SMTP Settings.

  2. Click the + icon to create a new SMTP user.

  3. Enter a username and password (save the password for external services).

  4. Click Create.

  5. Once active, a confirmation message appears.

SMTP & Email Limits

  • Up to 5 SMTP users per dedicated domain.

  • Daily sending limit: 1,500 emails per account.

  • If the limit is exceeded, all SMTP credentials for that domain are deleted automatically.

Managing SMTP Credentials

  • Delete User → Three dots next to SMTP user → Delete.

  • Reset Password → Select Reset Password, enter a new password, and save.

  • Team Setup → Create separate SMTP users for team members (e.g., support@, sales@).

Direct Email Reception

  • If someone emails a PXME-connected address (e.g., support@yourdomain.com), messages appear in Conversations automatically — even if you haven’t contacted them first.

IMAP vs SMTP

  • SMTP = Sending emails (used with PXME dedicated domain).

  • IMAP = Retrieving emails (not hosted by PXME).

For IMAP, get settings from your provider (Google, Microsoft, Rackspace, etc.).

Example (Google IMAP):

  • Username: Your Gmail address

  • Password: App password (Google account)

  • IMAP Host: imap.gmail.com

  • IMAP Port: 993

Note: PXME does not support POP/IMAP hosting.

Pro Tips

  • Warm-Up Your Domain – Use SMTP with a warm-up tool before bulk sending.

  • Use Unique Users – Assign one SMTP login per team member.

  • Verify DNS Regularly – Ensure SPF/DKIM/DMARC remain correct.

  • Rotate Passwords – Use strong, unique credentials and update periodically.

  • Monitor Deliverability – Track opens, clicks, and sender reputation metrics.
