PXME Email: How to Set Up a Dedicated Sending Domain

Created by PX Marketing, Modified on Tue, 19 Aug at 3:49 PM by PX Marketing

Overview

A dedicated sending domain in PXME gives you full control over your sender identity, helping your emails reach inboxes instead of spam. By authenticating with your own subdomain, you’ll build trust with providers like Google and Yahoo, protect your brand reputation, and improve long-term deliverability.

This guide explains how to set up and manage your dedicated sending domain in PXME.

Why Use a Dedicated Sending Domain?

  • Emails appear as if they’re coming directly from your brand.

  • Builds trust with providers such as Google and Yahoo.

  • Reduces spam filter issues and reputation risks.

  • Improves deliverability and long-term performance.

Note:

  • Dedicated sending domains apply only to emails sent via the PXME Email System.

  • If you’re using a brand-new domain, warm it up gradually before sending to large lists.

Step 1: Check if You’re Using Default Domains

If your emails use one of these domains, you’re still on PXME defaults:

  • mg.msgsndr.org

  • mg.msgsndr.net

  • replies001.msgsndr.com

  • replies.msgsndr.com

  • replies000.msgsndr.com

  • ec1.msgsndr.org

  • ec1.msgsndr.net

Switching to a dedicated domain replaces these with your own branded identity.

Step 2: Create a Dedicated Sending Domain

  1. Go to Settings > Email Services.

  2. Click Dedicated Domain and IP.

  3. Add your domain details (use a unique subdomain, e.g., send.yourbrand.com).

  4. Verify DNS records:

    • PXME can auto-configure.

    • Or copy/paste records into your DNS host manually.

  5. Allow up to 24 hours for propagation. If verification fails, re-check DNS entries.

Step 3: Manually Add DNS Records (If Needed)

If auto-configuration fails:

  1. Log in to your hosting provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.).

  2. PXME provides the exact TXT and CNAME records required.

  3. Add them in your DNS dashboard, then return to PXME to verify.

Step 4: Meet Google & Yahoo’s 2024 Requirements

Both providers now require:

  • A dedicated sending domain (not your root domain).

  • A unique subdomain (avoid prefixes like do-not-reply, lc, mg, email, mail).

  • Recommended examples: communication.yourbrand.com, support.yourbrand.com, news.yourbrand.com

Add a DMARC Record:

  • Type: TXT

  • Name: _dmarc.subdomainprefix (replace with your chosen subdomain)

  • Content: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:youremail@yourdomain.com

This ensures compliance with authentication and reporting standards.

Step 5: Manage & Customize Your Domain

  • Delete a domain: Go to Settings > Email Settings > Domain Services > three dots > delete.

  • Set default domain: Check the box to set a dedicated domain as default.

  • Assign by category: Go to Settings > Email Service > SMTP Service - Dedicated Domain and IP > Domain Configuration. (Currently supports 1:1 conversations and workflow emails.)

  • Default headers: Set default “From name” and “From email” under the same menu.

  • Unsubscribe Header: PXME automatically includes this in every email for compliance.

Best Practices

  • Use a professional email address (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365). Free services (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) don’t support bulk sending.

  • Always configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

  • Stay consistent—avoid spikes or erratic sending volume.

  • Maintain clean lists—never upload cold or purchased contacts.

  • Set a custom reply-to address in PXME to control where responses are delivered.

Troubleshooting

  • Error: “Domain already pointing to email server.”
Your DNS is linked to another service. Remove old MX/SPF records and retry.
Use MXToolbox SuperTool to confirm records.

  • SSL Certificate not generated:
Re-verify your domain in PXME. If still failing, contact your hosting provider.

FAQs

Q: How do I choose a sending domain name?
Use a unique subdomain (e.g., send.yourbrand.com). Avoid generic prefixes like mg or mail.

Q: My DNS records still aren’t verified—what now?
Force verification in PXME. If issues persist, confirm DNS propagation with your provider.

Q: Do I need to generate my own SSL certificate?
No. PXME auto-generates SSL after verification. If missing, re-verify the domain.
