Overview

The PXME Email Builder makes it easy to design branded, mobile-friendly, and professional emails. Using the Appearance panel, you can control colors, fonts, backgrounds, and element styling—all without needing advanced design skills. This ensures your emails are consistent with your brand, look great on any device, and drive higher engagement.

Navigating to Appearance Settings

  1. Go to Marketing > Emails.

  2. Select either Campaigns or Templates.

  3. Open an email in the builder.

  4. In the left-hand panel, click the Appearance tab.

Key Styling Features

1. Color Swatch Picker & Template Customization

  • Color Scheme: Apply preset palettes or create custom brand colors.

  • Background Image: Add a branded background image for visual appeal.

  • Email Width: Set a fixed width for consistency across devices.

  • Color Swatch Picker: Quickly apply colors to text, buttons, and backgrounds.

2. Background Colors for Text Elements

  • Highlight important content by applying background colors.

  • To apply:

    • Drag in a Text element.

    • Open the color picker in the settings panel.

    • Choose your preferred background color.

  • Note: Background colors apply only to text-based elements.

3. Styling Action-Oriented Elements

  • Buttons: Customize color, size, font, and shape to make CTAs more clickable.

  • Dividers: Add styled lines or spacing to visually separate content.

  • Custom CSS: Advanced users can insert CSS for deeper customization (test across clients before sending).

4. Preview in Browser

  • Add a Preview URL element so recipients can open your email in a web browser.

  • This ensures your design displays perfectly if an inbox client distorts formatting.

Mobile Formatting & Optimization

PXME’s Mobile Formatting panel lets you adjust styling specifically for smaller screens:

  • Adjust fonts, alignment, and spacing for mobile.

  • Optimize button sizing for touchscreens.

  • Control column stacking for multi-column layouts.

Best Practices for Mobile-Friendly Emails

  • Use single-column layouts for easier scaling.

  • Compress images for fast load times.

  • Make CTAs at least 44px x 44px for touch-friendly buttons.

  • Use short paragraphs and bullet points for easy reading.

  • Preview emails on both desktop and mobile before sending.

  • Maintain white space for readability.

  • Use large fonts (14px+ body, 22px+ headings).

  • Write short subject lines & preheaders for small screens.

  • Ensure accessibility with high contrast, alt text, and clear layouts.
