Setting Up Email Notifications for Expired Social Media Accounts in the Social Planner

Created by PX Marketing, Modified on Tue, 19 Aug at 4:27 PM by PX Marketing

Overview

The PXME Social Planner integrates your social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, etc.) to streamline posting and scheduling. Each account uses an authentication token that expires after a set period — for example, Facebook: 90 days and LinkedIn: 60 days. Tokens can also expire immediately if a password is reset.

To avoid disruptions, you can configure email notifications that alert you when tokens are about to expire or have already expired. This ensures your scheduled posts continue to publish seamlessly.

Why Token Notifications Matter

  • Prevent interruptions: Avoid failed posts due to expired tokens.

  • Stay ahead: Receive reminders before tokens expire, giving you time to refresh connections.

  • Assign responsibility: Notifications can be directed to specific team members for follow-up.

Types of Email Notifications in the Social Planner

You can configure notifications for the following events:

  • Account Expired – Alerts when a token has already expired.

  • Account Pre-Expiry – Reminder before expiration (e.g., day 80 for a 90-day Facebook token).

  • Request for Approval – Notifies approvers when a scheduled post needs approval.

  • Post Approved – Creator Update – Alerts the creator that their post was approved.

  • Post Rejected – Creator Update – Alerts the creator if their post was rejected.

  • Post Failed – Alerts users when a scheduled post fails to publish.
