Overview
With the Additional Emails feature in PXME, you can easily store and manage multiple email addresses for each contact. This is useful when clients provide personal, work, or backup emails. You can import new records, update existing ones, and export complete contact information — all while ensuring data accuracy and preventing duplicates.
Importing Contacts with Multiple Emails
Step 1: Access the Import Tool
Go to Contacts in the left-hand menu.
Click Import Contacts.
Step 2: Upload & Map Fields
During the import process, locate the system field Additional Emails.
In your CSV file:
Place all secondary or extra emails into a single column.
Separate multiple emails with commas (,), slashes (/), or semicolons (;).
Map this column to the Additional Emails field.
⚠️ Note: If no primary email is provided, the first additional email will automatically become the primary email.
Step 3: Import Rules
PXME applies the following rules when importing:
Contact Uniqueness – Determined by the primary email and any additional emails (if “Email” is set as the unique identifier).
Duplicate Emails – If duplicates are detected, the duplicate additional email is skipped.
Invalid Emails – Invalid addresses are discarded automatically; valid ones remain.
Primary Email Missing – The first additional email becomes the primary.
Merging Updates – If updating an existing contact, new emails from the CSV will merge with existing emails already stored.
Email Limit – Each contact can store up to 10 additional emails. Only the first 10 are retained.
Exporting Contacts with Multiple Emails
Step 1: Export Contacts
Go to the Contact Export section.
Choose Email in the Smart List column options.
Step 2: Export Details
The exported CSV will include a new column called Additional Emails.
This column lists all extra email addresses separated by commas (,).
