How to Create and Customize Your Review Widget

Customer reviews are powerful assets for building trust, fostering loyalty, and influencing buying decisions. By displaying reviews directly on your website, you can highlight authentic feedback and strengthen your brand reputation.


PXME includes a fully customizable Review Widget to showcase feedback in a way that matches your brand. This guide walks you through creating and personalizing your widget step by step.


Accessing the Review Widget Customization Tool

  1. Navigate to Reputation > Widgets.

  2. Click Create New Widget, or select a template from the Templates tab.


Layout Tab: Configuring Widget Structure

In the Layout tab, you’ll set the foundation of your widget:

  • AI Review Summary – Choose how reviews are summarized:

    • Short Summary: A quick 1–2 sentence overview.

    • Detailed Summary: A 3–4 sentence summary with added context.

    • Action Points: Bullet-point key takeaways.

  • Widget Type – Pick from layouts: List, Masonry, Carousel, Grid, Slider, Flash, or Legacy.

  • Review Source – Select platforms (e.g., Google, Facebook).

  • Max Reviews – Limit how many reviews display.

  • Powered By Section – Toggle the “Powered by The Pediatric Experience” label on/off.

  • Minimum Rating – Display only reviews above your chosen star rating threshold.


Content Tab: Editing Widget Header and Description

In the Content tab, you can align messaging with your brand:

  • Widget Title & Description – Customize the header and supporting text.

  • Header Section Options – Add/remove:

    • Overall rating

    • Review count

    • “Write a Review” button


Appearance Tab: Customizing Themes and Colors

The Appearance tab controls visual branding:

  • Themes – Choose Light, Dark, or Custom.

  • Component Colors – Adjust stars, borders, headings, and more to match your brand palette.


Settings Tab: Review Elements & Embedding

In the Settings tab, you’ll refine functionality and publish:

  • Review Elements – Choose whether to display reviewer icons, dates, etc.

  • Exclude Empty Reviews – Hide reviews without text.

  • Embed Code – Generate and copy the widget code, then paste it into your website’s HTML.

Pro Tip: Use the Copy Code button in the top-right corner for fast embedding.


Saving, Naming, and Managing Widgets

  • Give each widget a meaningful name for easy tracking.

  • Choose to publish immediately or save for later.

  • Manage multiple widgets under the Widgets tab—perfect for different designs across different website pages.
