Overview

Trigger links let you automate actions when a lead or customer clicks a specific link. They’re most commonly used in campaigns, emails, funnels, and websites to track engagement and personalize the customer journey.

Why Use Trigger Links?

  • Automated Action Triggers – Fire specific actions (tagging, notifications, workflow entry) the moment a link is clicked.

  • Cross-Channel Integration – Use in emails, SMS, funnels, websites, and campaigns.

  • Personalized Automation – Trigger follow-ups, lead scoring, or segmentation based on clicks.

  • Dynamic Tracking – Monitor clicks in real-time to measure engagement.

  • Smart Segmentation – Automatically tag or enroll contacts into workflows based on interest.

Step 1: Create Trigger Links

  1. Go to Marketing > Trigger Links > Links.

  2. Click Add Link.

  3. Enter a Name and the Destination URL.

  4. Click Save.

Step 2: Build a Workflow with Trigger Links

  1. Go to Automation > Workflows and create a new workflow (or edit an existing one).

  2. Add a trigger: Trigger Link Clicked.

  3. Use Filters to choose the specific trigger link.

  4. Add your workflow actions (e.g., add a tag, assign a user, send an email).

  5. Publish and save your workflow.

Pro Tip: If you need to create a new tag, type it and click the +. If the tag already exists, just select it from the dropdown.

Step 3: Insert Trigger Links

  1. Open your email, workflow, or campaign editor.

  2. Highlight the text you want to make clickable.

  3. Click the link icon and select your trigger link from the Link List.

  4. Save your changes.

Trigger links can be used in one-off emails, bulk emails, campaigns, funnels, or websites.
