Overview
Trigger links are special hyperlinks that do more than just send contacts to a webpage — they also log engagement and fire automation actions inside PXME. When a contact clicks a trigger link, the system records the click in their activity timeline and immediately executes any workflow steps tied to that link.
This makes trigger links one of the most powerful tools for turning clicks into automated actions, such as:
Adding/removing tags
Moving contacts into specific workflows
Tracking interest in services or events
Recording RSVP or opt-in confirmation
Where You Can Use Trigger Links
Trigger links are supported in multiple areas of PXME:
Contacts – Insert links directly into one-off emails to a single contact.
Conversations – Add trigger links when replying in the Conversations tab.
Workflows – Embed trigger links in workflow emails to automate journeys.
Email Campaigns & Templates – Add trigger links in bulk emails for segmentation and automation.
Part 1: Using Trigger Links in Contacts or Conversations
Navigate to Contacts and open a contact record, or go to Conversations and select a thread.
In the email tab, click the link icon at the bottom.
In the popup:
Select Trigger Link from the dropdown.
The Web Address will auto-populate.
Enter your Link Text (the clickable phrase).
Save and send.
⚠️ Note: Trigger links added this way cannot currently be embedded directly into custom text.

Create or edit a workflow.
Add (or edit) a Send Email action.
In the email editor:
Highlight a word or phrase.

Part 3: Using Trigger Links in the Email Builder
Navigate to Marketing > Emails > Campaigns or Templates.
Create or edit an email.
Open a Text Element.
Highlight your link text, click the link icon, and select the trigger link.
Save your changes.
Pro Tips
Organize Your Links: Name trigger links clearly (e.g., “Workshop RSVP – Yes”).
Test Before Sending: Confirm the link goes to the correct page and triggers the right workflow.
Use Actionable Text: Instead of “Click here,” say Reserve My Spot or Download Guide.
Track Results: Monitor clicks in contact timelines and workflow reports to refine campaigns.
