Overview

The Facebook Ads Report in The Pediatric Experience provides deep insights into your ad performance once your Facebook Ad Account is integrated. You’ll be able to track campaigns, ad sets, ads, and attribution data to maximize ROI and ensure accurate tracking.

1. Setup and Diagnostics

Before pulling reports, confirm proper setup:

  • Active Integration: Go to Settings > Integrations and verify your Facebook Ad Account is connected.

  • Admin Permissions: You must be a Page Admin, or have a Page Admin assign you this role. Without admin rights, reporting will be incomplete.

Important Notes:

  • If driving traffic to a landing page, set up both Facebook Pixel and Facebook Conversion API in workflows. (See guide: Workflow Action: Facebook – Conversion API).

  • Facebook previews do not include UTM parameters.

  • Avoid using emojis or special characters in UTM parameters.

  • Attribution data only records from specific entry points:

    • Form submissions

    • Survey submissions

    • Calendar bookings

    • Direct Facebook Lead Forms

    • Two-step order forms

    • Chat widget submissions

    • Inbound calls via click-to-call (not direct number pool calls)

2. Setting Up UTM Tracking

Accurate attribution depends on UTM setup. Add parameters to Tracking, not Destination.

Steps in Ads Manager:

  1. Select your campaign → Manage Ads → Ads → Edit.

  2. Under URL Parameters, configure:

    • Campaign Source: fb_ad

    • Campaign Medium: {{adset.name}}

    • Campaign Name: {{campaign.name}}

    • Campaign Content: {{ad.name}}

    • Extra Parameter:

      • Parameter Name: campaign_id

      • Value: {{campaign.id}}

  3. Click Apply to save.

Tracked at Contact Level:

  • Source

  • Campaign Name

  • AdSet Name

  • Ad Name

  • Campaign ID

  • fbclid

  • gclid

  • Referrer

3. Facebook Lead Form Mapping

When using Facebook Lead Forms:

  • Confirm the correct Page is selected under Settings > Integrations.

  • Map fields in Settings > Integrations > Facebook Form Fields.

See related guides:

  • Mapping Facebook Form Fields

  • Lead Ad Debugging for Facebook

4. Adding Tracking Codes

To ensure full visibility, install tracking codes:

  • Main Tracking Code:

    • Add under Sites > Funnels/Websites > Selected Site > Settings.

  • Event Tracking Codes:

    • Place within individual pages via Site Builder (head tracking space).

  • Pixel Setup:

    • Add Meta Pixel ID under Sites > Funnels/Websites > Events.

5. Accessing Facebook Ads Report

Step 1 – Access Reports

  • Go to Reporting from the left menu.

  • Select Facebook Ads Report.

  • Choose a date range (tip: for a single-day report, set both start and end to the same date).

Step 2 – View Data

  • Metrics are available by campaign, AdSet, ad, and demographics.

  • Use filters to refine by date range, campaign, or ad group.

Pro Tips

  • Verify Integration: Always confirm Ad Account is integrated with admin permissions.

  • Use UTM Parameters Correctly: Add them in Tracking, not Destination.

  • Entry Points Matter: Attribution data only flows from approved actions.

  • Check Page Mapping: Ensure lead forms are mapped correctly.

  • Track Everywhere: Place tracking codes on all pages and event funnels.
